THIS IS A NEW PRODUCT AND IS PENDING RELEASE FROM ARP, PLEASE CHECK AVAILABILITY WITH US PRIOR TO ORDERING.

Ford Owners: The 6.4L Powerstroke V8 Diesel Engine is a fantastic engine with HUGE potential!  Unfortunately, like it's 6.0L predecessor, it still lacks the additional head bolts per cylinder competitive diesels are designed with, which can still result in head gasket failure.

Its NOT the gaskets fault!

The 6.4L Powerstroke V8 was designed to replace the 6.0L and address significant issues experienced by 6.0L owners.  Unfortunately, it was not a fresh design, but a redesign of the 6.0L with an updated injection system, more advanced turbocharger, and more displacement.  Fortunately, the redesign addressed the majority of the 6.0L's flaws and the 6.4L has proven to be a substantial move forward.

With power levels from 6.4L Powerstroke trucks easily surpassing 500whp and 1200ft/lbs torque on many trucks, the stress loads on stock fasteners is much higher than the engineers who designed the engines ever intended.  Anyone performing serious upgrades on their 6.4L needs ARP Head Studs.

ARP Diesel Head Studs replace the OEM torque-to-yield fasteners. These fasteners are manufactured to have a greater clamp load than the OEM bolts. Because of the added clamp load, the cylinder head stays in place under high loads, virtually eliminating head gasket failures. .

These ARP studs are rated at 220,000 psi tensile strength, and provide the clamping force required to keep cylinder heads from lifting due to higher combustion pressures. The studs are manufactured in ARP's Santa Paula, CA plant from proprietary ARP 2000 material, with threads rolled after heat-treat to provide optimum fatigue strength. They are centerless ground to assure perfect concentricity. The ends of the studs are broached to facilitate easy installation. This feature also enables the cylinder head to be removed in tight quarters. Also included in each kit are heat-treated, chrome-moly steel 12-point nuts and parallel-ground washers. They are black oxide finished for extra durability.
